GSM Base Station photos - BT Cellnet

Picture loading - please wait.

This BT Cellnet main base station, in Andover in Hampshire, has recently had GSM1800 added. The left hand GSM900 antenna of the four in each sector, has been removed. This has been replaced with a GSM1800 sector antenna, which is approximately half the size. The third antenna along has been replaced with a new GSM900 model, this presumably incorporates a dual feed arrangement in order to maintain the original GSM900 capacity (before removal of the left hand antenna).

I'm not sure what services the folded dipoles and whip antennae are for on this site, but the two sector antennae and microwave dish attached to the top of the building are for one2one. This site, on a bakery, is the highest point in Andover so it's a popular one for radio comms.
