This is Cellnet and Vodafone's jointly-developed fully integrated (shared) GSM base station, designed to provide coverage in the Scottish Highlands, but with the minimum cost and environmental impact. The base station consists of
a single green equipment hut and mast within a fenced enclosure. On the mast there are four omni-directional antennae, two for Vodafone and two for Cellnet. On this site there is also a microwave dish to link the base station into the network. This base station is located
near the A833 on moorside above Glen Convinth.
Initial rollout of these base stations also appears to be along the A82 (eg at Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy), along the A87 (eg at Cluanie Inn, Loch Loyne and Loch Garry), and on the A83 (Loch Fyne).
